For everyone working out their tax right now, just send the government a big box of cheese singles, a pack of frubes and a note explaining that works out as three grand.

I’m in America and it’s very interesting how news about the UK is reported without the bias of British newspapers or the nervousness of the BBC. Britain’s petrol crisis is a direct consequence of Brexit - this is just an accepted fact everywhere (except where it’s happening).

Brexit is the greatest self-inflicted calamity in modern history and the people responsible are the British Conservative Party who called an unnecessary referendum and then lied and lied and lied.

A Jewish friend of mine was at school with Farage. When Nigel saw him he would shout 'to the gas chambers' or 'Hitler was right'. twitter.com/EllyDavis/stat…..

Shocked at the breakdown of discipline during lockdown. A whole generation of former public schoolboys breaking lockdown rules, corrupting public life and lying about their squalid affairs...

Sue Gray releasing her report bit by bit, in magazine format with adverts on the telly: “Month by month, the Sue Gray Report will grow into a fascinating encyclopaedia of government law-breaking for you and all your family. This attractive binder free with Issue One now…”

I remember in 1984, Wogan asking Jack Charlton what he'd have done if it hadn't been for football.
'I would have gone down the pit, wouldn't I?'
'And... would you be on strike now?'
'OF COURSE I WOULD - those lads, they're just trying to save jobs and their communities.' #RIPJack -

Keir Starmer had nothing to do with the failure to prosecute Jimmy Savile.
But since they raised it; Savile got an OBE in 1972 under a Tory govt and a knighthood in 1990 from Thatcher.
All of this should be irrelevant to current scandals, but Johnson has lied and facts do matter. -

Hey 18 year olds, you really shouldn’t worry about disappointing A level results. Lots of my generation got bad grades, but we still managed to add enormous fees for your university education, price you out of the housing market and ruin the planet before we leave it to you.

Finally the Tories are prepared to spend some public money on housing for young people.

Oh hang on, it was £150k for a treehouse for Johnson's 2-year old. -

I understand people saying the Colston statue should not have been removed in that way. But sometimes you need a suffragette smashing windows or whatever to shake the authorities out of their complacency and end years of being ignored. To be honest, I thought it was bloody great.

Boris Johnson was not born in the UK. If he's proven to have broken the law, then by his own standards he should strip himself of his British citizenship and have himself deported.

The thing you never imagine when you have babies is that one day those children will be interesting adults that you have so much in common with - and they want to go to the pub with you and they make you laugh and think about things in a new way.
This is actually the best bit. ❤️ -

Dear Met. Police Federation; you don't get a choice about 'having faith' in democratically elected leaders. You work for them and us, and this statement will further undermine Londoners' trust in the police to be politically neutral. twitter.com/MPFed/status/1…..

This obituary in today's @guardian is an incredible story. That's one hell of an epiphany in the middle of his life.

Newly ennobled Claire Fox was always an attention-seeking phoney, whether in the RCP or the Brexit Party. A lazy contrarian booking on Question Time, her "Institute of Ideas" was just something she made up to draw attention to herself. Only an idiot would fall for it. And he has.

Just heard the last of my parents' friends from my childhood has died. I used to sit on the stairs listening to them all laughing at parties or playing daft games at Christmas; I never imagined that their time in the sun was only temporary.
Have fun, be kind - it's not forever. -
