The iOS 15 Safari UI feels like a prank
Y’all seem to be into XDR flexes https://t.co/4i7zkicEYf
Dear iOS indie devs, learn from my mistakes...don’t give out a feature that requires ongoing maintenance (e.g. sync), for free.
There are 3 rectangles here, representing 2 distinct object types, in 3 distinct states.
Which tab is active and which is inactive? I honestly couldn't tell you https://t.co/VsME5KuQ6c
Bunch of people are surprised Darkroom earns less than $1M/year. A few thoughts:
The product _is_ very successful, but we made a few monetization mistakes early that hampered revenue growth (e.g. giving away too much for free).
Lots of people use and love Darkroom.
Finally have a moment to share the exciting news that my wife and I have welcomed our baby boy home. Expect a new content strategy on this account. Mainly excited to add “Father. Husband.” to my bio. https://t.co/scCkjIQgSC
Twitter as Instagram...I don’t hate it! https://t.co/0MrN1ehPkr
This is still so fuckin surreal https://t.co/eznsQqg5I3
This is the biggest (literally AND figuratively!) release in Darkroom's history. I had to go on paternity leave for much of this update, and the team really came through. It's amazing. I get goosebumps when I use it.
Hella left to do, but this is one hell of a 5.0 update twitter.com/usedarkroom/st…..
One of these days I'll probably write about the bug that cost us nearly half our revenue for a full quarter. Probably when the heartburn subsides https://t.co/Rsy2HIqqOf
The iPhone 12 mini is perfect. It’s amazing. It’s a dream, a revelation. Fun to carry, use, hold....
Darkroom next year will hopefully cross $1M in revenue, so the 15% extra is significant to us. It will allow us to hire an extra engineer, which in turn allows me to stop engineering full time and focus on growth and marketing, the biggest unexplored drivers of growth for us.
This clip mainly reminded me how unfunny this show could be because of how true it was.
I kept watching scenes like this like…”where’s the joke?” twitter.com/anothercohen/s…..
My coding style basically comes down to: If I can’t find all instances of it using Find in Project, or I can’t trace it’s path through the app using “Show Call Hierarchy”, it’s a bad architecture.
I know they’re LinkedIn-hustle-porn-cliches, but these two comics do capture my two overriding anxieties as a startup founder. https://t.co/DBuq5A0VSx
We have a mantra at Darkroom from restaurants “work clean”, meaning, keep your work clean throughout the process.
If you leave “polish” tasks as low pri tasks for the end phase of the project, it becomes hard to ship something high quality. twitter.com/mwichary/statu…..
Things that @usedarkroom launched in 2020:
Subscriptions, new rendering infrastructure, video editing support, album management, iOS 14, Darkroom for Mac (!), and ProRAW support.
Oh, and an Apple Design Award.
Gosh I'm so proud of the team it's insane. 2021 is gonna be 🔥
New business goal: Get disqualified from the Apple Small Business Program.
Darkroom is running our first end-of-year profit sharing :) It feels great to finally be in a position to reward the team for all the hard work this year. We're starting out small, but we're excited to build out our model for what a sustainable business looks like
OMG OMG OMG I’VE BEEN ASKING FOR THIS FOR 5 YEARS THIS IS THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO @usedarkroom SINCE PHOTOKIT IOS8 https://t.co/3Y5tw7V1en
Remember when Interface builder was a separate app with tons of windows? Somehow coding in Xcode was not the primary interface element? https://t.co/LyiGwCm4Bd
*falls over chair in nostalgia* https://t.co/I9dE65Kr3t

As a visual person, it’s in my nature to notice little details around me constantly (lights, shadows, lines, etc).
I love photography because it lets me capture these moments and share them.
It’s like sharing a tiny secret with the world https://t.co/8M3ivEN91f
