I grew up a hunter and served as an Army Ranger.

I didn’t take my deer hunting rifle to Afghanistan, nor did I take my assault rifle deer hunting.

Don’t be fooled by the gun lobby. The type of gun matters.

Weapons of war have no place in our communities.

New rule: If you brought us to this point by peddling The Big Lie, you don’t get to preach about “healing” and “unity.”

Healing and unity always require truth and accountability.

Some of my Republican colleagues are afraid of the consequences of an impeachment vote.

This congress sends our young men & women to war.

Not asking my colleagues to storm the beaches of Normandy, only to show a fraction of the courage we ask of our troops.

It’s time to lead.

Let me be clear: there's no serious comparison between voting laws in Colorado and Georgia.

Colorado is a vote-by-mail state — we send every registered voter a ballot. We also have same day voter registration.

We have stopped the coup attempt and will be returning to the Capitol today to finish the business of the people. We will never back down, we will return.

Senators who want to “move on” from the January 6 attack without accountability should never again preach about:

-personal responsibility

-law and order

-supporting law enforcement

-fighting terrorism

To be clear, it doesn’t matter what any senator says in a post-impeachment speech.

The only thing that mattered today was how they voted.

I may actually sleep tonight knowing there are competent and rationale people in the White House.

Let us be clear about what happened today. @realDonaldTrump threatened to send the military to “dominate” protestors, his advisors referred to our streets as the “battlespace,” and he ordered the military to use force on peaceful demonstrators so he could stage a photo op.

My heart has broken. Like most vets, I left part of me in AFG. Later we’ll debate the failures of last 20 yrs, but today our mission is clear: hold the airport as long as possible and get ALL U.S. citizens and as many Afghan partners out as we can. We will debate the rest later

As a combat veteran, I can tell you: I would never want to be armed with only a pistol against an assailant with an AR-15.

We can’t just arm our teachers. We need to pass common sense policies like an assault weapons ban to stop these attacks.

The lack of discipline in Congress is truly astounding.

If an embattled wartime leader asks you to keep quiet about a meeting, you better keep quiet about the meeting.

I’m not saying a damn thing. Lives are at stake.

If we don't hold Trump accountable now, we're signaling to future presidents that they too can get away with inciting a violent insurrection, undermining our democracy, and abusing the power of the executive office.

For the sake of our democracy, Trump must be held accountable.

Reputation rehab tours are underway.

Those who turned their backs on democracy under Trump will do it again if given the chance.

We have known for a long time that Donald Trump is violent and unstable. After what happened yesterday, 13 days is too long.

He needs to be removed from office -- whether it be invoking the 25th Amendment or impeachment. We must protect our democracy.

Let’s call this what it is - a political stunt.
